Orthopedic surgeries encompass the musculoskeletal system. This includes the bones, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and joints. Our surgeon, Dr. Klovstad, is very experienced and successful with his surgeries. Some of the orthopedic surgeries we perform are:
From John and Tracey Mitchell, owners of Montana:
"We originally took our dog Montana who suffered a severe hip fracture at 11 months old to another vet, where we were told to amputate her leg to save money. We were personally treated with a very cold demeanor, like we were not making a life or death decision to save our family member. Dr. Klovstad and Coldwater Animal Hospital were recommended to us and he saved Montana’s life! Dr. Klovstad saved Montana’s leg and treated her like she was his own. After 4 months of recovery Montana is running around like nothing happened, and every time she goes back to Coldwater, she is greeted with love and compassion by the entire staff. We will be forever grateful that we found Coldwater and Dr. Klovstad. We will never forget what he did for our family and Montana."
From Elizabeth Stevens, foster mom of Flynn from K9 Orphans Rescue:
"The staff at Coldwater Animal Hospital are phenomenal; they are always friendly, extremely helpful, and very professional. When my foster dog needed a major pancarpal arthrodesis surgery, Dr. Klovstad, Erin, and the rest of the staff provided him with exceptional care both before the procedure and throughout his recovery. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Klovstad and his team to take care of your furry family members for any and all veterinary needs!"
From Adrienne Ripley, owner of Reagan and Maizey:
"Words cannot truly express the gratitude and appreciation that I have for the staff at Coldwater Animal Hospital! After an exhaustive search in December of 2018, right before Christmas, I landed at the doorstep of Coldwater facing double TPLO surgeries for my 9 year old English Pointer mix. Feeling overwhelmed by both the cost and the rehab associated with not one, but two back-to-back procedures, I was immediately calmed and comfortable with Dr. Klovstad and impressed with his surgical knowledge and expertise. After the initial surgical consultation, I knew he was the one to operate on my beloved fur baby. Not only was I confident in Dr. Klovstad, I was also in awe of how welcoming, compassionate, and understanding the ENTIRE STAFF was towards me as a new client! My pup, Reagan, instantly bonded with Erin, who assisted on both of Reagan’s surgeries, and also went out of her way to update me on her progress. She was a tremendous support during the healing and rehab process. After the success of Reagan’s surgeries and the care received, I knew I was going to remain at Coldwater.
Then, unexpectedly in May of 2019, just a month after Reagan’s full recovery, I found myself facing another big surgery! This time, my other sweet girl, Maizey, had been diagnosed with a thyroid tumor that needed to be removed immediately. Dr. Klovstad and staff truly went WAY above and beyond to arrange for 36 hrs of round the clock post-surgical care so he could perform Maizey’s surgery at Coldwater. I found myself once again overwhelmed with the support and care that we received.
I have since recommended Dr. Klovstad’s surgical skills to a friend. His pup needed a risky procedure and he was not liking the options given at two different animal hospitals. Two weeks later, my friend called to thank me profusely for sending him to Coldwater. He was thrilled with Dr. Klovstad’s surgical plan and outcome. His pup was home and on the mend. Some people are placed in your path at just the right time and for just the right reasons. Dr. Klovstad, Erin and the staff at Coldwater were those people for me. I look forward to many years of exceptional care for my current, and future, fur family!"
